  • Position Summary

    WESTMED is currently recruiting for a Charge Capture Supervisor in our Charlotte office. This position will serve as a member of our Charlotte team and be responsible for the following:

    • Knowing all aspects relevant to the Charge Capture process for all clinical departments.
    • Partners with Charge Capture Manager and Asst. Manager to ensure specific goals, objectives, and performance standards are met.
    • Assists in the coordinating of staff assignments and the communication of those assignments.
    • Participates in key communication efforts and builds strategic working relationships with all Charge Capture personnel including Centralized Services Director.
    • Responsible for training, supervising and establishing workflow protocols to assure that claims are accurate, clean, and entered timely.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    • Supervise staff to assure that claims are accurate, clean and timely.
    • Oversee timely resolution of missing charges at the organization level.
    • Work closely with Charge Capture Manager, Billing Department, Director of Centralized Services and IT to identify, develop and test new procedures to minimize claim denials.
    • The individual in this role will also have assigned physicians that he/she will be directly responsible for in addition to supervisory duties.
    • Consistently reviews Aging Edits to identify and resolve issues.
    • Supports Staff with updated coding materials, training and associated information needed to solve coding issues and resolve TES edits.
    • Monitors staff performance and hold staff accountable.
    • Process payroll.

    Required Qualifications


    Nationally recognized Certified Coder (CPC from AAPC)

    High School Degree required, College Degree preferred.

    • Demonstrate the ability to solve business problems across departments
    • Ability to effectively manage staff and workflows to achieve target performance levels. Must be able to set priorities by understanding organizational goals. Demonstrates the ability to clearly set expectations for staff. Knows how to motivate staff.
    • Ability to deal effectively with employee relation issues.
    • High School Degree required; College Degree preferred and/or minimum of 3 yrs. CPT and ICD-10 coding experience in a physician or group practice.
