  • Position Summary

    WESTMED Practice Partners is currently seeking a Coding Compliance Analyst to join our team. This individual will be a key member of the Coding Compliance team and will partner with other departments within WESTMED to ensure successful completion of position responsibilities.

    Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

    A Coding Compliance Specialist is responsible for improving the overall accuracy, integrity, and quality of provider documentation. This person

    Reviews claims rejections pertaining to coding and medical necessity issues dependent on insurance policies.   Evaluates coding practices and recommends corrective action.    Communicates with providers related to coding issues and educates on current coding rules and regulations.     Conduct special audit projects.  Review E/M code selection.  Research and answers edits prior to claim submission. Special projects:  HCC coding, presentations, focused audits.

    Required Qualifications

    • Certification required: CPC (preferred), RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P
    • A minimum of two years of coding/compliance experience required with general specialty knowledge preferred.
    • BS Degree preferred
    • Experience with EHRs/EMRs in a hospital or large physician group practice setting
    • Proficient in use of in ICD-910-CM, CPT and HCPCS coding systems.
    • Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement methodologies and other third-party regulations
    • Experience in preparing and conducting presentations .
    • Superior organizational and analytical skills including the ability to work with auditing tools, software and spreadsheets.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written, with healthcare providers, support and coding staff.
