Position Summary

WESTMED Medical Group is currently seeking a full time Assistant Director of Radiology to oversee the management of daily operations for Radiology departments. This position is based out of the White Plains, NY office location. This role is responsible for administering, directing, planning and coordinating business and clinical activities at multiple medical offices/departments throughout southern Westchester county, New York and southern Fairfield county, Connecticut.  The incumbent is required to travel to these local sites on a regular basis.  The Assistant Director of Radiology works collaboratively with the Medical Group physicians to ensure high quality, cost effective and accessible patient care services.


The Radiology department at WESTMED Medical Group is accredited by the American College of Radiology (ACR) in breast ultrasound, mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound-guided breast imaging, Cat Scan , PET/CT and MRI.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

Job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

  • Administers the patient/radiologic services across the organization
  • Oversees the maintenance of accreditations
  • Manages personnel and /or activities at the Medical Office including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, training, counseling, evaluation, disciplining and terminating in conformance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Directs and supervises Radiologic Services in accordance with governmental and other regulatory standards
  • Oversees radiologic care essential to the assessment, promotion, maintenance and restoration of patients’ health and wellness
  • Administers office policies and procedures in a consistent and timely manner
  • Develops and implements clinical radiologic policies and procedures
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Identifies, analyzes and resolves work related problems and issues
  • Coordinates section schedule
  • Proficient use of PACS System and other Radiology Information Management systems as needed
  • Coordinates the development and review of operating and capital equipment budgets for departments. Monitors compliance with established approved budgets, ensuring effective staff and resource utilization.
  • Manages relationships with outside vendors to ensure contract compliance and effective levels of support
  • Works collaboratively and actively communicates with administrative personnel and other clinical areas to ensure maximum organizational efficiency and productivity
  • Responds to patient concerns. Promotes quality patient care and service
  • Collects data, prepares reports, analyzes statistics and budget reports, and answers correspondence as needed
  • Serves on organizational committees and attends management meetings as requested
  • Participates in professional development activities
  • Ensures the development and delivery of Radiologic Education to clinical staff
  • Adheres to all WMG Compliance Program Policies and Procedures including all regulatory financial and OSHA requirements. Participates in and contributes to help achieve a total compliance program
  • Manages assigned projects as directed. Performs other duties as requested

Required Qualifications

Job requirements include but are not limited to:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree, must be graduate from a AMA-approved school of Radiology Technology
  • Current ARRT certification and NYS Registered Radiologic Technology License required
  • Five years of radiology/imaging experience with progressive supervisory experience and a special modality (prefer CT, MRI, and/or Mammography).
  • Proficiency with radiology equipment and manufacturer's hardware and software
  • Highly developed verbal and written and communication skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under deadline pressures, and is able to multi-task. Must be proactive to resolve workflow issues.
  • High degree of honesty, integrity, and confidentiality- Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to undertake new responsibilities as assigned with high degree of ownership
