Position Summary

Westmed Medical Group is currently seeking a Front Desk Associate (Patient Experience Associate) for our Physical Therapy department in Purchase, NY.  The scheduled hours for this position is Monday - Friday: 11:00am - 8:00pm.  The Patient Experience Associate is expected to provide a superb patient experience while maintaining reception and clerical support functions. 


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities


  • Champions the standards of excellence in the WESTMED Front Desk Patient Experience Policy
  • Obtain prior authorizations for physical therapy patients
  • Obtain updated physical therapy prescriptions
  • Warmly meets and greets patients, is proactive in introducing self to patients, employees, and guests by stating your name in face-to-face encounters. 
  • Helps lost patients and guests find their way by walking them to their destination when needed (seek help from co-workers as needed to assure coverage). 
  • Always serve as a team player and removes the term and/or inference of “That’s not my job” from their vocabulary. 
  • Provides a superior patient experience as a positive ambassador for WESTMED in support of the organization’s patient centric model of health care delivery. 
  • As appropriate during non-peak time periods, walks the facility as an Ambassador to WESTMED asking patients if there is anything they can do for them.
  • Addresses and resolves any problems that a patient may have to the best of one’s abilities
  • Escalates unresolved problems to manager.
  • Imparts empathy, compassion, and gratitude at all times.
  • Reviews and updates patient demographics and insurance information and accurately scans important documents into Centricity.
  • Assist patients (as needed) with kiosk self-check in and registers patients arrival in Centricity.
  • Collects co-pays and fees for service; enters payment information into patient records.
  • Answers phones.



Required Qualifications


  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Prior experience working in a physical therapy department required
  • Strong customer service and computer skills
