Position Summary

WESTMED Medical Group is seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse OR Registered Nurse for a full-time Clinical Manager position to oversee and manage the Pediatrics department plus a dermatology provider at the White Plains, New York office location.  


The Clinical Manager is responsible for administering, directing, planning and coordinating all clinical and business activities within the assigned medical offices. The Clinical Manager works collaboratively with the medical group physicians and WESTMED administrators to ensure efficient, high quality, cost effective service to our patients, and actively promotes a consistently positive patient experience throughout the patient visit.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Manages daily clinical and business operations in the Medical Offices and coordinates the work activities and schedules.
  • Manages clinical personnel in the Medical Office including, but not limited to, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, mentoring, and evaluating their performance. Selects top talent, utilizing motivational interviewing techniques, choosing the 'right people.
  • Administers office policies and procedures in a consistent and timely manner including all clinical quality, Medical Home/ACO, Quad A, AAAHC and other regulatory requirements
  • Develops guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Develops and submits a complete annual operational and capital budgets in-line with corporate goals and policies
  • Reviews and responds to quarterly budget variances analysis with detailed explanations
  • Manages overtime effectively and accurately justifies appropriate variation.
  • Reviews monthly staffing levels with RN Clinical Site Director and department physicians with appropriate sign off
  • Pro-actively manages inventory and supplies utilizing par levels and inventory count management.
  • Completes capital requests with a detailed business plan and return on investment analysis to senior management
  • Reviews monthly supply expenses with RN Clinical Site Director and department physicians with appropriate sign off
  • Works collaboratively with the Billing Department to ensure timely and accurate bill processing and payment.
  • Collaborates with the Site Administrator to maintains the Medical Office facility and recommends improvements 
  • Promotes high quality patient care and a patient-centric experience
  • Monitors clinical physician and staff dashboard progression
  • Pro-actively addresses Press Ganey deficiencies by developing, implementing and monitoring a remedial course of action
  • Monitors staff plan compliance in a consistent manner and takes corrective action.
  • Holds monthly staff meetings to promote open communication
  • Meets monthly with individual staff members to discuss performance progression
  • Manages assigned projects as directed.  Performs other duties as requested.

Required Qualifications

  • Professional licensure as a LPN or RN in New York State
  • Licensure in Connecticut is preferred
  • 3+ Years of experience including prior management experience
  • Associates/Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Patient Centered Medical Home and ACO experience preferred
  • Variation and flexibility with location and shift to meet practice and organizational needs required

  • Knowledge of clinical policies, procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of organizational and fiscal policies, procedures and systems
  • Knowledge of Human Resource management practices
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications
  • Skill in planning, organizing, delegating and supervising
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills necessary to build staff, administrative, physician and community relationships
  • Demonstrated excellent customer service and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Able to identify knowledge deficits of staff/physicians regarding Dashboards and Metrics
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and manage multiple activities with limited supervision
  • Ability to think critically, motivate staff to meet department quality goals, and work with minimal supervision in a stressful environment
