Position Summary

Westmed Medical Group has a new opportunity for a full-time Physician Assistant to be part of the Orthopedic health care team working with a busy Orthopedic physician at the White Plains, New York office location.  The Physician Assistant will provide Surgical First Assist in the OR and have independent office hours.  Position schedule is Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm with periodic evening hour flexibility required.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

* Provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services

* Obtain medical histories and perform physical examinations

* Request and evaluate diagnostic tests and render a diagnosis

* Provide indicated treatment and follow-up instructions

* Prescribe medications as indicated

* Perform aspirations and injections

* Application and removal of all types of traction, casts, splints, and other immobilization devices and equipment

Required Qualifications

* Current New York State licensure as a Physician Assistant

* Orthopedic experience as a Physician Assistant preferred, new graduates welcome to apply

* Flexibility with hours and duties as required

* Must be able to work extended hours per MD schedule

* Demonstrate ability to perform advanced technical tasks/OR Surgical First Assist
