Position Summary

Westmed Medical Group is currently seeking a full time Mammography Radiologic Technologist for all of the locations in Westchester County. The schedule is Monday - Friday with shifts between 8:00 am - 6:00 pm.

 

The Radiologic Technologist assists the Radiologist in diagnosis and treatment of patients within our multi-specialty medical group while maintaining excellent imaging quality.  Westmed Medical Group offers digital mammography with Computer Aided Detection and hologic 3D mammography.  Westmed is recognized by ACR as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence (BICOE).  With the recent addition of hologic 3D mammography systems at two of our sites, high field MRI, and a PET/CT scanner, the GE Discovery 610, we continue to bring the latest technology to the community.  

 

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Follow physicians’ orders precisely and conform to regulations concerning the use of radiation to protect themselves, their patients, and their coworkers from unnecessary exposure
  • Verify proper patient identification on the study and route it PACS
  • Maintains a daily log of patients seen
  • Operate the equipment to acquire a variety of imaging results.
  • Obtains essential information from patients, medical records, and previous scans for clinical correlation.
  • Observe and follow safety procedures to include radiation protection and universal precautions.
  • Carry out quality control checks on equipment, reporting deficiencies to proper personnel for action. 
  • Must be able to work independently and demonstrate flexibility in work assignments. 
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and working area.
  • Maintain familiarity with the departments EMR and PACS systems.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through training and fulfillment of continuing education requirements.
  • Ability to maintain a great knowledge in human anatomy, proper positioning skills, and appropriate utilization imaging techniques.

Required Qualifications

  • Current New York State license required
  • Connecticut State License a plus
  • Current ARRT certification, including certification in Mammography
  • Ability and flexibility to travel to multiple office locations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, EMR experience strongly preferred
  • Attention to detail
