Position Summary

Westmed Medical Group is seeking a full-time Medical Scribe to assist a busy pediatric Dermatologist in the clinical setting by performing transcription of clinical information.  Schedule will vary and ability to work longer days, such as 7:30am to 6:30pm, is required.  This position is based out of the Purchase, New York office.

Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Accurately and thoroughly document medical visits and procedures as they are being described and performed by the physician
  • Patient medical history and physical exam
  • Procedures and treatments performed by healthcare professionals, including nurses and physician assistants
  • Patient education and explanations of risks and benefits as dictated by clinical staff
  • Physician-dictated diagnoses, prescriptions and instructions for patient or family members for self-care and follow-up
  • Proofread and edit all the physician’s medical documents for accuracy, spelling, punctuation, and grammar
  • Prepare referral letters as directed by the physician

Required Qualifications

  • Must have prior medical scribing experience in a clinical setting
  • Strong computer skills and EMR experience
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Must have good Mathematical Skills
  • Superior typing skills
