Position Summary

The supervisor will be the initial source for the daily operational questions and issues that arise. Candidates are required to have a proven track record of successful people management, strong organizational skills and the ability to lead by example. This position will be responsible for supervising the established performance targets within the billing department. We are looking for candidates who will provide solid leadership, clear direction and continuous guidance for the team. 


Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities

  • Supervises while providing guidance and direction to associates, in order to achieve timely, efficient and accurate billing.​
  • Enforces department metrics through reporting and accountability of staff.
  • Plans and organizes staff workload.
  • Maintains inventory controls and reports to ensure complete and incomplete work is properly accounted for.
  • Resolves elevated payer calls/issues to achieve and solidify positive customer relationships.
  • Participates in the interviewing of potential new associates and makes hiring recommendations.
  • Ensures effective and ongoing on-the-job training of team members, evaluates and records individual and team performances, provides coaching and counseling, and makes appropriate development, salary, promotion, and/or termination recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of related medical office experience required or customer service experience in a leadership capacity, preferably in a large, complex healthcare environment.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in Business, with an emphasis in healthcare or educational training; or an equivalent combination of experience, training and education.
  • A high degree of initiative, flexibility, autonomy and excellent resource management.
  • Must possess strong analytical skills.
